TRAINING
THE LEGAT FOUNDATION OF RUSSIAN CLASSICAL BALLET is accredited by THE BOARD OF DANCE QUALIFICATION & TRAINING [BDQT] THE LEGAT FOUNDATION, originally THE FEDERATION OF RUSSIAN CLASSICAL, was set up as a Charity in 1995 by John Gregory & Barbara Vernon Gregory. It is now run by Moya Vahey as Chairman with the board of trustees and Nicolai Tsiskaridze & Irek Mukhamedov as Presidents. Examinations are held in the Legat system from Preparatory through to Advanced 1&2. Each examination ends with a short solo to show the dancer’s knowledge of rhythm & performing skills. The solos for Advanced 2 were choreographed by the great Russian ballerina Tamara Karsavina. Columbine’s solo from Harlequin Serenade, for the girls & Harlequin’s solo from the same ballet, for the boys.
